The Yale Black Culture Network (YBCN) is open to all Yale employees and strives to provide opportunities for them to engage, build community, and make connections at Yale and the broader New Haven community.

Mission

Foster a supportive community that recognizes, celebrates, and values Black culture, perspectives, and contributions at Yale and throughout the broader New Haven community.

Objectives

• Build and sustain a connected Black community at Yale through meaningful opportunities for engagement, networking, collaboration, and mutual support.
• Advance the professional growth and development of Black talent by increasing access to career resources, leadership development, mentoring, networking, and professional opportunities.
• Promote organizational accountability for the advancement of Black talent by partnering with senior leaders to support awareness and action around the recruitment, development, promotion, and retention of Black employees.
• Strengthen Yale-New Haven community connections by building partnerships and creating opportunities that recognize, celebrate, and support Black culture, contributions, and community engagement.
• Recognize and celebrate Black culture, perspectives, and contributions across Yale and the broader New Haven community through educational, cultural, and community-based programs.
